The Outsourced Recruitment Company – new name and offices reinforce the mindset of success through collaboration and community.
In the early days of commerce, the importance of business and community linking together was clear. Even the word ‘company’ is derived from the Latin words ‘com’, meaning ‘together’, and ‘panis’ meaning ‘bread’. Traders would come together, share stories, eat and do business. They were communities.
For Taunton Chamber of Commerce members The Outsourced Recruitment Company, – who have recently moved to standalone offices on Paul Street in the heart of Taunton’s town centre – this ethos has underpinned not only their recent change of company name and branding as a truer reflection of how they do business, but has also influenced their decision to relocate, as well as the manner in which the move has taken place.
“Local procurement comes as standard here at The Outsourced Recruitment Company”, explains Founder and MD Laura O’Driscoll. “Using local partnerships for the products and expertise we need to service our large national projects means that more firms in our area benefit from the landing of these contracts.
This is also true of the move to our new standalone offices, where we have been determined to use as many local companies as possible. The ideology that ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ is certainly true of both our rebrand and our physical move and we are indebted to the businesses on whose know-how and can-do attitudes we have depended on”
Taunton based PCN Computer Services, Taunton PAT Testing and Taylor Made Solutions provided electrical, safety and IT expertise, with The Perfect Mop carrying out a deep clean to enable works to commence. Large format print experts Carly Press have been on hand to create impactful signage and Renwick’s removals pulled their weight – literally – to get the team and their furniture moved. As the company now moves away from a managed office scenario, fellow Chamber members Costgard will be offering utilities set up and monitoring.
Perhaps the most rewarding collaboration though, is that The Outsourced Recruitment Company will be using Crescent Cleaning Services to keep the offices clean and tidy. The core goal of this Taunton social enterprise is to increase employment opportunities and eliminate barriers for anyone who has experienced homelessness, through access to high levels of training and support to aid continued long-term employment. Founded in 2021 by local homelessness support charity Arc, Laura and the team helped with the recruitment of key team members to allow the enterprise to get going.
Employer Brand Consultant Kim Draper, whose work for The Outsourced Recruitment Company sees her liaising closely with employers and recruiters on building, fostering and capturing employee outlook and work-place experience has been delighted that the move to the new office will allow ORC team members physical and head space – ensuring time in the office is both productive and enjoyable. “Our time at Collar Factory, where we were previously located, helped us to understand how place and space can have such a positive effect on workplace wellbeing and we’ve taken this ethos with us to Paul Street.
Here we have plenty of space for collaborative projects, plus additional rooms to allow quiet working, and confidential phone and video calls. We’re thrilled that our new town centre location also provides an outdoor patio area, which is perfect for staff to enjoy breaks outside and a space which our four-legged team members certainly appreciate!”
