Richard Huish College Student Success: University Offers Secured for Oxbridge, Medicine and Veterinary Courses
22 Huish students have received offers to study highly competitive university courses; 9 students have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge, 10 have received offers from medical schools, and 3 have been successful in gaining places on veterinary science courses.
Huish is a state-funded sixth form college with boarding provision that is dedicated to
supporting students in pursuing a wide range of progression pathways after college. This
includes those setting their sights on competitive university courses across the UK and
beyond.
Students who have secured places to study at the respected Oxford and Cambridge
universities are: Cormac Pickford (Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge), Emily Howells
(Biology at Oxford), Evie Titley (Chemistry at St Anne’s College, Oxford), Grace Liang (Law
at New College, Oxford), Mayara Souza Paiva (English and French at Oxford), Nadine
Matull (Law with German Law at New College, Oxford), Sam Stroud (Mathematics at
Cambridge), Zoë Buttivant (Modern and Medieval Languages [German and Spanish] at
Emmanuel College, Cambridge), and Charlotte Ambler (Medicine at Cambridge).
Students who have been offered places on competitive medical courses (not including
Oxbridge) are: Alexis Bulloso (Birmingham), Arran Bailey (Plymouth), Cristina Cijan (Brighton
& Sussex), Daisy Williams (Bristol), Diana Krautsova (Exeter), Gaby Davison (Bristol), Honor
Farnie (Bristol), Parsa Khawaja (Southampton), Yasmin Augustine (Newcastle), and Sasha
Movchan (Plymouth).
Students who have secured places to progress onto veterinary courses are: Chloe Johnson
(Veterinary Medicine, Nottingham), Holly Britton (Veterinary Medicine, Liverpool), and
Sophie Paskin (Veterinary Science, Bristol).
Students were supported with their university applications by Academic EnRICH,
a programme open to all students that helps to develop key skills, knowledge
and understanding beyond the curriculum.
Students applying for medicine or veterinary courses also benefited from Huish’s specialist
strand of Academic EnRICH, the Medical Careers Academy, which provides tailored
support. This includes admissions test preparation, seminars led by both internal and guest
speakers, skills development sessions, interview coaching, and wider reading suggestions.
