When most people think about pedicures, the image that springs to mind is a touch of polish and a bit of pampering. But behind the scenes, there’s a quiet revolution taking place — one that blends the beauty industry with podiatry, ensuring that treatments aren’t just cosmetic, but deeply beneficial for long-term foot health.
Here in Taunton, The Sangha House has been at the forefront of this shift. Over the past year, co-director Denise Spragg has helped bring a groundbreaking pedicure system to the UK — one of the first to be accredited by Habia, the national regulator for the beauty industry. This system bridges the gap between cosmetic pedicure and podiatric care, offering clients the assurance of safety, hygiene, and outstanding results.
It’s been a remarkable year of professional recognition too. Denise was invited to record masterclasses with Sweet Squared, one of the UK’s largest professional beauty distributors, teaching this new system to nail technicians nationwide. She was also honoured to sit on the judging panel of a prestigious pedicure competition, working alongside industry leaders who had once been her own role models.
Alongside these achievements, Denise has secured a year-long commitment to write for Scratch Magazine, the UK’s leading nail industry publication, ensuring that the Southwest has a voice at the very centre of national developments. She’s also launched her own educational platform, Elevate Pedicure, dedicated to raising standards of training and care within the sector.
So what does all this mean for the people of Taunton? Quite simply, it means that clients here have access to one of the UK’s most qualified and innovative pedicure experts. Whether it’s dealing with hard skin, maintaining mobility, or simply keeping feet looking and feeling their best, clients at The Sangha House can be confident they are receiving treatments that reflect the very highest standards in the country.
As Denise says: “Your feet carry you through life — they deserve more than a coat of polish. By raising standards across the industry, I’m ensuring my clients here in Taunton benefit from care that combines luxury with genuine wellbeing.”
And for fellow Chamber members? Denise would be delighted to share her expertise with local businesses — whether through staff wellbeing workshops, collaboration, or simply ensuring your teams are putting their best foot forward.
