Taunton accountancy firm, Portt & Co is pleased to announce their new pledge,
Portt & Grow, which hopes to address concerns on unemployment and the
environment.
2020 has been quite the year and we’ve all seen the impact this has had on
businesses and their employees. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reportsx
that an estimated 1.52 million people were unemployed in the period June to
August 2020, 138,000 more than the previous quarter. Portt & Grow aims to
reduce that figure by offering the company’s payroll clients an incentive to grow
their team.
Under their pledge, Portt & Co will not increase their payroll clients’ fees when
they create new roles and opportunities for employment. Through their Portt &
Grow commitment to the environment as a climate positive workforce, the team
will also plant a tree for every new job created, by donating to the charity, The
Woodland Trust.
In their Portt & Grow announcement, the firm said: “Something we’re passionate
about at Portt & Co is creating a better future. Through Portt & Grow, we hope to
inspire others to encourage the development of the jobs market and to do their
bit to fight climate change.”
