Pauls Promotions host new Sunday afternoon Car Boot Sale at Taunton Racecourse
A new Sunday afternoon car boot sale is set to launch at Taunton Racecourse, giving sellers and bargain hunters a fresh option just weeks after the previous Sunday event at the venue closed.
Taunton Chamber of Commerce member Pauls Promotions is starting the new “Late Riser” Sunday car boot at Taunton Racecourse, with the first sale taking place on Sunday, August 2nd.
The event is planned to run every Sunday afternoon including through the winter months, subject to the weather. Pauls Promotions have been running car boot sales across the county since 1998, including the popular Prockters Farm Car Boot Sale.
Pauls Promotions said: “We want to reassure all of our loyal customers that Prockters Farm is very much here to stay. The new Racecourse venue simply gives people the opportunity to enjoy a full day of car booting in Taunton, with a morning event at Prockters Farm followed by our new afternoon sale at Taunton Racecourse.”
The move comes after the former Sunday car boot sale at Taunton Racecourse ended on Sunday, June 14. The previous organisers said the event had become “no longer sustainable” for them to manage, and have since cancelled the Saturday morning car boot sales at the site as well.
Seller entry at the new Taunton Racecourse event will be from 1pm on Sundays, and buyers will be admitted between 2pm and 4.30pm. Buyer admission will be £1 per adult, with children going free. To mark launch day, all selling vehicles will be charged a discounted rate of £8.

Pauls Promotions say attending staff are trained in First Aid, traffic management and customer safety. Facilities at the racecourse will include a barista coffee trailer, ice cream van, and on-site parking. The venue will be dog-friendly.
Meanwhile, Prockters Farm will continue to run every Sunday morning. Sellers can arrive from 9am, with buyers welcome between 10am and 1pm. The event at Prockters Farm does not permit dogs.
Both events will operate under Pauls Promotions’ “fair play” policy, which means no browsing or buying before their official opening times.
