Local Somerset business wins innovation award for sensory wellbeing workshops
A small Somerset business, Fabric Sewn Beautiful, has been awarded Silver for Best Innovation at the SME Awards, recognising the impact of the sensory wellbeing workshops delivered within care homes. Since the creation of the business, Fabric Sewn Beautiful has been a proud and active member of the Taunton Chamber of Commerce.
Tara Goddard, owner and sole creator behind Fabric Sewn Beautiful, delivers the workshops personally to residents, combining wellbeing with eco-friendly creativity. Using repurposed fabrics and lavender, residents create handmade wellbeing gifts they can take back to their rooms, while enjoying sensory experiences designed to encourage calm, conversation, confidence and memory recall in an accessible and meaningful way.

Tara said:
“Creating these workshops has always been about helping individuals feel comforted, included and proud of something they’ve made themselves. Winning this award for Best Innovation means so much because it recognises the positive impact creativity and wellbeing can have within our communities, especially those closest to our hearts.”
