In 2027, we celebrate 50 years at the heart of our community.
For half a century, our theatre has been a place to come together — to laugh, reflect, learn, and experience something totally unforgettable.
Now, as we look ahead to the next 50 years, we’re launching Fit at 50 — an ambitious campaign to modernise our venue and ensure it continues to serve the people of Somerset for generations to come.
A BRIGHTER, MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
The first stage of this project focuses on upgrading the lighting in our Main Auditorium and Studio Theatre.
We will replace our current systems with modern, dynamic LED lighting. These new systems will:

💵 Cut long-term operating costs
🎭 Enhance the experience for artists and audiences alike
This essential upgrade has been made possible thanks to a generous award of £527,000 from Arts Council England.
